TRANSMISSIONS

IG Watteeuw Transmissions subdivision is a global partner for the supply of traction gear units for the propulsion of railway vehicles such as locomotives, high speed trains, commuter trains, metros and trams.
In house design, engineering, sales, project management, production of components, assembly and service are performed in two plants in Brno, Czech Republic, and in Suzhou, China.

Annual production capacity is 7000 gear units in Brno and 4500 gear units in Suzhou.

The Brno plant avails of a testing facility for load testing of prototypes up to 1250 kilowatt and 6500 RPM.

Next to the traction gear units for railway applications, the Transmissions subdivision produces gear units for cable cars, extruders and mixer drives.

The customers are geographically spread in all main markets of both developing and mature economies.

IG Watteeuw Gear and Component Solutions is delivering ground gears until 2 meter and components for OEM, gearbox leaders and spare part market with 2 production plants.

The Romanian plant is the leading gear production plant for ground gears until 1 meter while the production plant in Belgium is manufacturing big gears until 2 meter and big free from sand castings.
